The vision was to tell a story that feels lived-in and true. Instead of staging or over-directing, the approach leaned into authenticity, letting the environment and subjects guide the lens.
I studied the community, the cultural significance of Sekangkang Kera, and the emotions tied to the place. Understanding context was key to knowing what to capture and how to frame it without distortion.
On location, I worked with available light and natural settings, aiming for unobtrusive yet powerful shots. Each frame was crafted to highlight texture, detail, and emotion, balancing documentary realism with artistic direction.
The editing process focused on subtle enhancements preserving mood, tone, and color integrity. Refinement was less about altering reality and more about emphasizing the raw energy already present in the captures.
